Egypt, Sudan Sign Contract to Raise Electrical Link Capacity to 300 Megawatts

Within the framework of the interest of the Egyptian political leadership in the speedy implementation of the electrical interconnection project between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the brotherly Republic of Sudan and the termination of the second phase of this project, and within the framework of the interest that the electricity and renewable energy sector attaches to the electrical interconnection projects, especially the connection with the Republic of Sudan. The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company and Siemens Energy Company signed a contract to raise the capacity and stability of the existing electrical interconnection line between Egypt and Sudan to 300 from 80 megawatts.
